Spiritual Dimensions of Talbiyah
The Talbiyah is a powerful declaration whose impact resonates across the Earth. The Prophet ﷺ said, “No Muslim utters the Talbiyah except that it is echoed by the rocks, trees, and ground… reaching the farthest ends of the lands” [Tirmidhi]. The word “labbayk” signifies responding to a call—one that Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was commanded to make. Allah says, “And proclaim the pilgrimage to the people. They will come to you on foot and on every kind of transport, emerging from every distant mountain pass” [Quran 22:27].
Once you recite the Talbiyah, you have entered into the state of Ihram
